Can an output we call pollution become a measured input to another useful process—without disguising energy use, danger, waste or displacement elsewhere?
The work maps possible routes through fuels, electrolysis, batteries, reflux, recovery, carbon conversion, manufacturing coproducts and Bubble Butt capture. Its purpose is to unlock disciplined research across many applications, not to declare one complete machine.
Nothing here authorises improvised experiments, road use or human exposure. Any proposed route must conserve mass and energy, include upstream production, and pass specialist chemical, pressure, fire, electrical, environmental and regulatory review.
The research direction
Combustion, capture and manufacture are usually examined as separate systems. CL17 asks whether their relationships can be mapped together: a fuel may create motion and heat; an exhaust-control stage may move selected substances into water or solids; those materials may require disposal—or may become qualified feedstock for another process.
Transitive does not mean harmless. Capturing a substance changes its location and form. Reuse is credible only when composition, contamination, energy demand, durability and final destination are measured.

The study deliberately separates what is known, what has been demonstrated in other arrangements, what these workbooks model and what remains a proposal.

Individual processes such as electrolysis, fuel cells, methane synthesis, wet scrubbing, carbon conversion and chemical recycling exist in particular conditions.

What the current models say
1,134 are marked candidate, 2,124 research only, 4,302 incomplete and 6,840 rejected under the present workbook rules. These are screening results, not probabilities of success.
The model is energy-negative after electrolysis and engine assumptions. It therefore treats mixed-gas promotion as a measured research question, not a catalyst or energy source.
The evidence supports beginning with separated hydrogen, controlled wet/reactive capture and full-loop measurements in qualified facilities before any vehicle integration.
Bubble Butt scenarios transfer mass into liquid or solids. Treatment, reuse, regeneration, storage and disposal all remain inside the environmental account.
The author’s view · clearly separated from the evidence verdict
Of the pathways examined in this study, the one in which I presently have the greatest confidence is the demand-regulated lithium-carbide fuel-release pathway:
In this reaction, lithium carbide and water produce acetylene, lithium hydroxide and heat. The acetylene would provide the combustible energy carrier, while the lithium hydroxide could be returned for controlled recovery or regeneration. It may also bind part of the carbon dioxide produced during combustion, forming lithium carbonate and water:
Lithium carbonate does not directly produce the acetylene in the fuel-release reaction. It may instead form part of the wider proposed capture, return and regeneration cycle.
In my personal view, this deserves careful investigation as an adaptable pathway for producing fuel when required for appropriately designed or converted combustion systems. It may eventually contribute to reducing dependence on newly extracted fossil fuels, particularly if the carbon, hydroxide, carbonate, water and other outputs can be responsibly recovered through a stationary or depot-based process.
This is not a claim that a complete, efficient or road-ready system has already been demonstrated. My confidence comes from the published research, prior art, chemistry, calculations and comparisons cited in this study—not from a request for personal authority. I may be wrong, which is precisely why the pathway should be tested openly and allowed to succeed, change or stop according to the evidence.
Developing and safely testing a prototype would require facilities, equipment and combined expertise beyond what I can provide alone. I nevertheless believe I can contribute a useful account of how the pathway could be investigated if a larger organisation can provide the people, resources and practical means needed to test what is possible.
“If you have the ‘what’, I believe I can help supply the ‘how’.”
I do not seek ownership, control or exclusive rights over anything that may be discovered. I ask only for the opportunity to contribute, learn alongside others and, if the evidence supports the pathway, take part in building a better future that can be shared.
A field of applications—not one promised product
Separate hazardous chemistry from people and vehicles; meter the complete energy and material balance before considering mobility.
Test whether captured carbon, hydrogen-bearing streams or carbide routes can make useful fuels without hiding upstream electricity and reagent burdens.
Characterise carbon, hydroxides, salts, water and other outputs for purity, quantity, handling cost and genuine displacement of virgin material.
Consider only narrow, independently controlled functions after stationary evidence exists; do not place chlorine, reactive lithium chemistry or mixed-gas generation onboard by assumption.
Collect and measure selected combustion outputs for controlled treatment, disposal or qualified reuse while protecting the engine and existing emissions controls.
Use the network to generate better questions, reject impossible loops early and expose where specialist chemistry, engineering, regulation or life-cycle analysis is still missing.

Bubble Butt supplies a separate, staged question: can a low-resistance wet stage collect additional exhaust material without harming an engine or defeating approved after-treatment?
CL17 extends the question downstream. If a controlled test captures carbon-bearing particles, condensate, water or other constituents, can any stream be safely characterised and reused in manufacturing—or must it follow a controlled waste route? The answer may differ for every stream.

Freeze one chemistry, one duty cycle and one boundary. Measure electricity, heat, water, reagents, gas, products, losses and waste on the same basis.
Use certified equipment and qualified facilities. Separate hydrogen and oxygen, control ignition, ventilation and pressure, and keep incompatible chemistries apart.
Measure exhaust before and after, analyse the capture liquid or solids, record back-pressure and energy penalties, and identify the final destination of every captured substance.
Prove composition, purity, quantity, consistency, handling burden, market need and the material or process it actually replaces.
Use PASS, FAIL and INVALID TEST outcomes. A rejected pathway is useful knowledge when its boundary and reason are preserved.
